Accounting Clerk



Job purpose

Yankee Leisure Group is looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to be based in our Beverly, MA office.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
  • Sort, enter and upload invoices
  • Review and verify invoices and check requests
  • Monitor client receivable accounts to ensure incoming payments are up to date
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquires
  • Assist with monthly reports and month-end closing


  • Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or Accounts Payable Clerk
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets (Excel) and financial reports
  • Experience with MS Word, Outlook/email, Internet (Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox)
  • Some experience with computerized accounting software/systems (Preferred)
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers
  • Data entry and word processing skills
  • Well organized
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Past experience in the travel/hospitality industry
  • Be able to work independently without supervision in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required) with some college study (Preferred)
